With the launch of the X41 Tablet, ThinkPad demonstrated an ability to adapt to new ways of working and new environments.

The X41 delivered a new mode of working: tablet. Flipping the display turned the X41 into a digital slate you could write and draw on. Its form factor neatly illustrates the ThinkPad approach to design: start with a set of criteria to develop a device that meets that need, rather than a preconceived idea. Many challenges had to be overcome to create this memorable and impressive design and at its launch it was the lightest convertible with the longest battery life of any 12” tablet PC. The development of the X41 would prove instrumental in guiding the development of the X1 Yoga.
